The Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County is thrilled to announce that the Pennyroyal Area Museum is getting a makeover! And in order to prepare for this major project, the Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County will be closing with a Bon Voyage Party on Saturday, March 31, 2018.
We will offer free admission from Tuesday, March 27 through Saturday, March 31.
We are renovating the old Post Office, the home of the Pennyroyal Area Museum since 1976. Built in 1913-15, this elegant, beautiful building is in need of upgrades to provide a space that can best showcase the history that we all treasure. In addition to the building renovation, we will also be refining, redesigning, and creating an updated exhibition to tell the stories of our community.
(The Woody Winfree Fire-Transportation Museum will be closed to the public beginning in April and will reopen on Tuesday, July 10, 2018.)
We anticipate a grand re-opening of the Pennyroyal Area Museum in the spring of 2019.
