Diner-inspired dishes are on the menu, doo-wop and rock ‘n roll are on the jukebox, and James Dean is on the big screen at our drive-in. This rockin’ n rollin’ fundraising event supports both organizations and brings the fabulous ‘50s back to life through food, local photographs, and retro music. Memorabilia from all 7 local high schools, a rock ‘n roll music show with Bill Booth, a presentation from Big Daddy William T. Turner, a photo booth with Cat Lacy, and a live auction combine on this night for leather jackets, poodle skirts, and bobby socks – and for playing a little backseat bingo. Bring a blanket and camp chair to watch Rebel Without a Cause at the drive-in with your baby after supper.
This event offers a perfect opportunity to capture more of our community’s history. If you have any pictures, documents, or other artifacts related to Hopkinsville and Christian County in the 1950s, please contact the Museums of Hopkinsville. We specifically hope to expand our collection and understanding of all community high schools that operated through the 1950s.
