The Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County announces its 27th Annual Quilt Show from April 5 – 30, 2016. This exhibit showcases both old and new quilt masterpieces from area quilters and always proves to be one of the Museum’s most colorful and artistic displays each year. Hands-on activities offer all visitors the opportunity to step up to the quilt frame and add a few stitches to a community quilt project.
Children are invited to join us for a special workshop at Challenge House #5 on Wednesday, April 27 from 4pm-5pm where they will learn how to “Sew up a Yo-Yo!” Yo-yos resemble flowers made out of fabric. They are easy and fun to create, and their round shape will make an artistic addition to a hair accessory or pin.
The Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County is located at 217 East 9th Street in downtown Hopkinsville and includes the Pennyroyal Area Museum and the Woody Winfree Fire-Transportation Museum. General admission to the Museum is $2 with special rates for seniors and children; there is no admission fee for the Museum Shop. Hours: Tuesday-Friday, 9am-5pm; Saturday, 10am-3pm.
