Surrounded by the beautiful woods of western Kentucky on the serene Pennyrile Lake, this state resort park features a full service restaurant, lodging, miniature golf, boating, concessions, beach, guided hikes, 18 hole golf course, basketball, tennis, bird watching, geocaching, gift shop, library, arcade room. It also can accommodate weddings, events, meetings, birthday parties, etc. It also holds 3 pavilions, and 2 meeting spaces that hold up to 80 people. Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park is located 20 miles northwest of Hopkinsville.
Horse Camping
Pennyrile Forest offers 8 pull-through campsites specifically designed for horse owners. These sites feature electric, water and sewer hook-ups. Each site has its own corresponding hitching posts for up to four horses, picnic table, lantern hanger & fire ring/grill combo. Horse campers have access to all campground amenities, which include bathhouses, laundry area and playgrounds. A new 1.25 mile horse trail near the campground connects horseback riders to the 40+ miles of horse trails on the adjacent Pennyrile State Forest.Lodging
Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park offers 37 total accommodations that can sleep up to 117 people. Each lodge room offers a lake view balcony or patio, TV, bathroom, dresser, iron, hair dryer,table &seating, coffee maker, telephone, beach and pool access, and Wi-Fi. There are 19 rooms with 2 queen beds, 3 rooms with 1 king bed, and 2 rooms with 1 Queen bed (Handicap Accessible). There are a total of 13 cottages, including 1 or 2 bedrooms with a variety of bed sizes including king and queen. Amenities include pull out sofa, fireplace, and boat dock options, covered back porch with seating, full size kitchens with all dinnerware included, dining space, bathrooms, sofas and tv, coffee maker, telephone, Wi-Fi, lake or forest view, grill, and beach and pool access. We have 1 handicap accessible cottage that includes 1 queen size bed and a pull-out sofa. All other cottages have at least 10 steps down to them. *Our Honeymoon cottages a loft style 1 bedroom with 1 Queen bed in the loft.
