Hoptown’s largest holiday social gathering is back on the calendar! Join us downtown on Thanksgiving Day (Thursday, Nov. 28) for the 18th Annual Hopkinsville Turkey Trot 5K. This untimed fun run/walk has become a much-anticipated tradition each year, so make plans to enjoy the race before you stuff your face and #WobbleTilYouGobble!
As always, the run/walk is FREE. This year, though, we are adding some exciting options! The Hopkinsville Turkey Trot 5K will be the first leg of a tri-fun run series with Clarksville 5K Light Run and Fort Campbell Ugly Sweater Run, so you’ll be able to purchase an optional race shirt and finisher medal for $25! Proceeds from the Turkey Trot benefit the Hopkinsville Greenway Rail Trail.
However you decide to participate, PLEASE register in advance https://tinyurl.com/HoptownTurkeyTrot. Shirts and medals will be limited, so sign up by Tuesday, Nov. 19 to guarantee yours. Strollers and dogs are welcome. For more information, call Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation at 270-887-4290.
The 2nd Annual Officer Phillip Meacham Memorial Run/Walk will be held at the Christian County Justice Center on Saturday, November 2, 2019. Registration starts at 7:30 am, with the 10K kicking off at 8:15 am and 5K kicking off at 8:30 am.
These events are a day where the community and family can come out and walk or run together, while supporting a good cause and having fun. Note: Stroller and pet friendly event; all dogs must be on a leash and please clean up after your pet.
For more information, please call or email Toby Hudson at 270-887-4291 or [email protected]
We are hosting a Halloween parkrun where we are encouraging runners to attend dressed up in their favorite costume, although of course this is not obligatory. Do bear in mind that any costumes worn must be safe for runners and for other park users and that parkrun is always a family friendly event. Besides the Halloween theme and the additional attendees, the 5k run will be a parkrun event like any other.
Registration and participation in parkrun is always FREE!
