Christmas Parade

HES-EnergyNet Hopkinsville Night Christmas Parade

A signature event during #HopkinsChill Weekend, and returning as a nighttime event, is the 2019 Hopkinsville Electric System-EnergyNet Christmas Parade! Beginning at 5:15 pm on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2019 in downtown Hopkinsville, the HES-Energy Net festivities will include traditional floats, as well as the first-ever Golf Cart Division, sponsored by Western Hills Golf Course.

With Hopkinsville Community College President Dr. Alissa Young as the Grand Marshal, this year’s Parade carries a theme of “What Christmas teaches us.” The Parade route, set to head south on Main Street, winds its way from Glass Avenue to 13th Street through festive downtown.

The deadline for Christmas Parade float registration has been extended to noon on Wednesday, Nov. 27. The cost to enter a float into the parade is $20 (plus tax) and a new toy, to be given as a Christmas gift to a child or family in need.

In its first year, the Christmas Parade Golf Cart Division allows for entries that are not as cost or time-consuming, but that will still allow participants to join in the fun. Cash awards will be given for both traditional floats and golf carts. WKDZ/WHVO are also back in 2019 to sponsor the “People’s Choice Award,” given to the large float that is voted on by the public.
