Veterans Honor Parade

The Christian County Military Affairs Committee, the Division of Parks and Recreation, City of Hopkinsville and Christian County Fiscal Court will be holding a Veterans Honor Parade on Saturday, November 9th at 10:00 am in downtown Hopkinsville.

Every participating Veteran will receive a hand-held American Flag to carry and take home.

Downtown Trick-or-Treat

On Thursday, October 31st, Downtown Trick-or-Treat will begin at 3:30 pm.

Downtown merchants and local organizations will be located on S. Main Street, from E. 6th Street south to E. 13th Street, giving out candy and goodies until 5:30 pm. Adults are encouraged to accompany children ages 12 and under. Children should bring their own bags.

Arbor Day Festival – at DeBow Park Hopkinsville

Come join the City of Hopkinsville as they celebrate Arbor Day in DeBow Park with food, music, children’s activities, information sessions, vendors, giveaways, and MORE!

Inaugural Hoptown Half Marathon & 5K – at Hoptown Harvest Festival

The Inaugural Hoptown Half Marathon & 5K, presented by Planters Bank (Half Marathon) and Jennie Stuart Health (5K), is a joint road race through Hopkinsville, KY.

The course winds through downtown Hoptown, residential areas, through beautiful Christian County countryside and returns to finish downtown on the popular and new Greenway/Rail Trail.

Couple this great race layout with Saturday’s Hoptown Harvest Fest and Bourbon celebrations (also held downtown) and you’ll have a fabulous race experience! Proceeds from the race and associated events (Friday Expo) benefit the non-profit partners of the United Way of the Pennyrile.

Half-marathon runner package includes a beautiful medal and comfortable long sleeve moisture-wicking performance shirt. Come experience the beauty and charm of west Kentucky scenery and hospitality in Hopkinsville, or Hoptown as we call it — at the Hoptown Half Marathon & 5K, presented by Planters Bank and Jennie Stuart Health.

Race starting line is at 1001 S. Main Street in downtown Hopkinsville. Race-day registration and packet pickup is at the nearby Christian County Justice Center, 100 Justice Way, Hopkinsville, KY 42240.

 

                       

Hoptown Half & 5K Pasta Dinner – at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic School

Looking for a fun way to carb-load the night before your race? Join us for the Inaugural Hoptown Half Marathon & 5K Pasta Dinner! Get your grub on from 6:30-8pm on Friday, Sept. 27 at Planters Bank-Jennie Stuart Health Sportsplex Hopkinsville.

Cost is $10 for registered runners (must show bib as proof), $5 for kids 8-and-under and $12 for everyone else.

The dinner includes pasta, bread, salad and the choice of water or tea from Four seasons catering. We’ll also have a motivational speech from Marathon Runner Stella Christoforou! Seating is limited to the first 200 people, so don’t hesitate to purchase your spot. And remember, all proceeds to go to United Way of the Pennyrile!

Hoptown Half & 5K Expo

Come pick up your race packet (including your official race bib), race shirt, visit with a slew of running vendors and stick around for the carb-load pasta dinner, all on September 27, 2019 at Planters Bank-Jennie Stuart Health Sportsplex Hopkinsville. The Expo will run from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm, giving runners/walkers the chance to beat the crowd and enjoy some fellowship the night before the Inaugural Hoptown Half Marathon & 5K. Join the City of Hopkinsville and Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation for Fridays at 5 – Sounds on the Square.

Friday, August 23rd – Fridays at 5 will be part of the annual Hopkinsville Summer Salute Festival.

Farewell Reception for Chief Montgomery

City officials will host a farewell reception in honor of Chief Montgomery at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16 at the Hopkinsville Municipal Center, located at 715 South Virginia Street. Mayor’s Unity Breakfast

Our 45th Annual Mayor’s Unity Breakfast will be held on October 25, 2018. The breakfast will begin at 7:30 am-8:45 am; at the James E. Bruce Convention Center located at 303 Conference Center Dr. Hopkinsville, KY 42240.   The theme of this year’s breakfast is Better Together, with Dr. Alissa Young (President of Hopkinsville Community College) serving as the keynote speaker.

Individual tickets for $10.00 and tables for ten at $100.00 may be purchased at the Municipal Center in the Human Relations Commission or the Mayor’s Office or from any member of the Hopkinsville Human Relations Commission.  Tickets purchased at the door are $15.00 each.
