Edgar Cayce Hometown Seminar 2020

Join us as we pay tribute to Hopkinsville and Christian County’s most famous son: Edgar Cayce. This year, we welcome Peter Woodbury as our featured speaker on From Creation to Revelation. Back by popular demand in Hopkinsville, Peter joins us for his second full seminar weekend. The weekend seminar is packed with a combination of enlightening presentations and special hometown visits and experiences that will make this weekend unlike any other. We are excited and hope you will join us!

The weekend also includes a special dedication to the new exhibition dedicated to Edgar Cayce and his legacy in Hopkinsville in the recently remodeled Pennyroyal Area Museum. Be present for a ribbon cutting ceremony to bless his story and this space. The bus tour with William T. Turner is currently full. All who register from this point on will be added to a waiting list for the tour. Alternate opportunities are available on Saturday afternoon.

Gather with us at Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park outside Edgar Cayce’s hometown for a weekend full of learning, fellowship, and self-discovery. Immerse yourself in the land where Edgar Cayce was born and reared and where he discovered his remarkable gifts that prompted his life’s work.

Midday at the Gallery Program – Featuring Willie Rascoe

Join the Hopkinsville Art Guild for Midday at the Gallery!

This month Willie Rascoe, a folk art sculptor, will share the process he uses to develop his artwork. He continues to create his sculptures from the driftwood, metal, bone, and shell he collects along the lakes and woods of Western Kentucky. He bases his work on the shape and textures of the wood. Sculptures emerge as animals, masks or abstract forms, with a blurring of lines between human, animal, plant, and spirit. Bits of bone, animal hides, shell fragments, copper wire, and stain made from berries and sawdust finish the pieces. Rascoe is well known throughout Kentucky for his work in schools and as an arts educator. His pieces are in the permanent collection of the Kentucky Folk Art Center and the Kentucky History Center as well as private collections.

The public is invited to this free program and a light lunch will be provided.
