Downtown Stroll, Sip & Shop

Cocktails, mocktails & back to school sales is what you’ll find at this Downtown Stroll, Sip & Shop event! Visit with vendors and merchants at the Downtown Farmers Market on Saturday, August 3rd, from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM to pick up your coupons, highlighting special discounts and offers from select merchants in Downtown Hopkinsville. They will also be drawing for the Hoptown Bingo: Summer in the City program, so make sure to turn in your completed Bingo card to the Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library in advance of Saturday.

Shop LOCAL, Shop Downtown. Casey Jones Distillery & MB Roland Distillery will be on site offering signature cocktails and mocktails – and The Mixer will have food products available for sale. Get a first hand experience of some of The Mixer’s proposed dishes and make it a day in Downtown Hoptown!!

Downtown Stroll, Sip & Shop

The Downtown Stroll, Sip & Shop kicks off at Fred Atkins Park on 906 S. Main Street. Parking will be available at Founders Square, Municipal Center or along Main and Virginia Streets.

From 4 – 7 PM, you can stroll Main, Virginia, 9th & 6th Streets with many of your favorite merchants offering retail specials and themed food and beverage options to get you in the retro country mood.

At 7 PM, the country duo, The Malpass Brothers, will be LIVE at the Alhambra. Tickets are $45 for adults, $25 for active military and $15 for students with ID, and can be purchased online at , or at the box office at 507 S. Main Street. Click here for more info.

Women’s History Talk: Five Hopkinsville Women Who Deserve Historical Markers

Join Milkweed health & harmony emporium on March 28th for a Women’s History Talk by Jennifer Brown. The talk will discuss Five Hopkinsville Women Who Deserve Historical Markers. This special event will coincide with another special event, the Downtown Stroll, Sip & Shop.

Jennifer P. Brown has written about Hopkinsville for 35 years – first as a reporter and editor for the Kentucky New Era for three decades and more recently as an independent journalist publishing the online news site Hoptown Central. Brown co-chairs the National Advisory Board of the Institute for Rural Journalism and Community Issues at the University of Kentucky, and she is a board member for the Kentucky Historical Society and the Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County. She earned the MFA in Creative Nonfiction at Goucher College, Baltimore.
