Ugly Christmas Sweater Party – at Hopkinsville Fraternal Order of Eagles 3423

Ugly Christmas Sweater Contest – at A.J.’s Kitchen

It’s Ugly Christmas Sweater Contest time at A.J.’s Kitchen! On Saturday, December 21st, wear the ugliest holiday sweater you have to be entered in their contest for a $50 gift certificate. Pictures (does not have to include face) will be posted and judged by customers. On Monday, December 23rd, a winner will be announced and contacted.

HES-EnergyNet Hopkinsville Night Christmas Parade

A signature event during #HopkinsChill Weekend, and returning as a nighttime event, is the 2019 Hopkinsville Electric System-EnergyNet Christmas Parade! Beginning at 5:15 pm on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2019 in downtown Hopkinsville, the HES-Energy Net festivities will include traditional floats, as well as the first-ever Golf Cart Division, sponsored by Western Hills Golf Course.

With Hopkinsville Community College President Dr. Alissa Young as the Grand Marshal, this year’s Parade carries a theme of “What Christmas teaches us.” The Parade route, set to head south on Main Street, winds its way from Glass Avenue to 13th Street through festive downtown.

The deadline for Christmas Parade float registration has been extended to noon on Wednesday, Nov. 27. The cost to enter a float into the parade is $20 (plus tax) and a new toy, to be given as a Christmas gift to a child or family in need.

In its first year, the Christmas Parade Golf Cart Division allows for entries that are not as cost or time-consuming, but that will still allow participants to join in the fun. Cash awards will be given for both traditional floats and golf carts. WKDZ/WHVO are also back in 2019 to sponsor the “People’s Choice Award,” given to the large float that is voted on by the public.

Saturday with The Grinch at Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library

The Grinch will read a story at 1:00 pm and will be available for pictures afterwards. Crafts will follow. The first 70 people to arrive in Whoville will be able to get a coloring book signed by The Grinch for $5. Proceeds benefit Imagination Library.

Downtown Christmas Tree Lighting

Help us OFFICIALLY kick off the holiday season AND #HopkinsChill Weekend with the Downtown Hopkinsville Christmas Tree Lighting at Founders Square. The tree will be lit at 6:00 p.m. Ice skating will be available nearby as part of the 2nd Annual Skatin’ on the Square.

 

Paws & Clause

Bring your furry friends to The Bruce December 10th to have their picture taken with Santa Clause. Photos may be taken with your own personal device or with the assistance of Santa’s helpers.

– $5 for single fur-babies.
– $10 for multiple (up to 4) fur-babies.

Please make sure your furry friends are on leashes. Pet treats will be provided!

Campanile Productions Presents: Elf, Jr. The Musical

Campanile Productions is pleased to present Elf, Jf. Based on the beloved holiday film, this hilarious fish-out-of-water comedy follows Buddy the Elf in his quest to find true identity. Jr. means that this is a shorter version of the show presented by a cast of actors age 18 and younger.

This show will be presented Saturday, December 7th at 7:00 pm, and Sunday, December 8th at 2:30 pm at The PAC at Christian County Middle School. Tickets are $10-15; click here to purchase tickets.
