2nd Annual Skatin’ on the Square

On December 12th – 15th, Hopkinsville will be transformed into Hopkins-chill, offering an array of family-friendly holiday activities downtown, including the 2nd Annual Skatin’ on the Square event.

The 2,500-square foot rink, which measures approximately 60 feet long, will be positioned within the Founders Square parking lot and accommodate 80 skaters during a single session.

Times for Skatin’ on the Square will be announced at a later date.

Screaming Eagle Portraits of Love – at Christian Way Farm & Mini Golf

Join our community’s military families and neighbors for Deployed Family Day at Christian Way Farm.

Dandy Lion Photography is hosting Screaming Eagle Portraits Of Love. Catering to the families whose spouse are deployed during the upcoming holidays. We want to thank and pay tribute to the men and woman who serve and make so many sacrifices to keep our country safe. This will be a great family day at Christian Way Farm, LLC where they can enjoy the playgrounds, animals, tractors, cafe, sunflowers and pumpkin to take home along with professional Family Pictures taken by our local photographers.

Price for event will be $8 for a child and a pumpkin, and $5 for a parent. 

Reaching Hearts and Souls Ministries International Inc. will do a free giveaway for the first 3 families that register, they will receive free entrance on behalf of RHSM.
Three iCare Packages will also be given out during the event! This will be such an exciting opportunity for the families to make friends with others in the same boat. To feel loved by the community and to show our appreciation.

Military Affairs Salute Saturday Chili Cook-off and Grilled Cheese Challenge – at Hoptown Harvest Festival

The Military Affairs Salute Saturday Chili Cook-off and Grilled Cheese Challenge is one of our community’s best-loved traditions! The annual event features both civilian and military teams competing for prizes up to $1,000.

Chili tasting is free for all military ID card holders; $2 for civilians.

All money raised goes to support our military community members!

This year, Military Affairs is partnering with the Hoptown Harvest Festival‘s Bourbon Mashoree to bring you craft distilleries, breweries, and wineries from across the region to compete for bragging rights. Additionally, there will be live music and a large kids zone. The Inaugural Hoptown Half Marathon & 5k is also taking place that day and ends in Founders Square just in time for the Chili Cook-off festivities.

Event Schedule for Saturday September 28th:
7:00 am: Inaugural Hoptown Half Marathon & 5K
11:00 am: Farmers Market and Vintage Craft Fair
Noon-until chili runs out: Public Chili tasting
Noon-7:00 pm: Bourbon Mashoree, Kids Zone and Live Music

Team Schedule:
*6:00-8:00 am: Chili/Grilled Cheese Teams arrive for setup
*8:00 am: Chili cooking begins
*10:00 am: Grilled cheese turned into judges
*Noon: Chili turned into judges and public tasting begins
Approx. 2:00 pm: Winners announced

Explore spirits and brews from regional craft distilleries, breweries & wineries as they compete for bragging rights at this year’s Kentucky Bourbon Mashoree! Experience live music, including Cayce and the Moonlight Band, 101st Airborne Division Band & The Todd County Boys! Play throughout awesome kids zone activities!

Live Music Schedule:

12:00-1:30 pm –> Cayce and the Moonlight Band
2:30-4:00 pm –> 101st Airborne Division Band
4:30-7:00 pm –> The Todd County Boys

11th Annual Butterfly Festival

You and your family are invited to the 11th Annual Oak Grove Tourism Butterfly Festival! This year’s event will be held on Saturday, September 28th, on the grounds of Valor Hall Conference & Event Center in Oak Grove, KY.

Come and interact with live butterflies in their habitat in the Butterfly House, or let the Master Gardeners take you on a tour of the beautiful Butterfly Garden. Children will be able to create environmental arts and crafts projects for free.

Watch a family friendly stage show, take a ride on the train, or get your face painted. Have your portrait drawn by a caricature artist, take a spin on the human gyroscope ride, or take pictures like Hollywood stars at the Golden Globe-styled step & repeat banner.

There is something for everyone to See, Do, and LEARN! Head out to 101 Walter Garrett Lane and join in all the free family fun at the 11th annual Oak Grove Tourism Butterfly Festival!
