Food for Thought: Museum Book Club
January 19 @ 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm CST
Join the Museum’s virtual book club! We’ll meet virtually (for now) to discuss a book that explores local history and culture and is by a local writer. First up: Ted Poston’s The Dark Side of Hopkinsville.
Hopkinsville native Ted Poston is widely known as the Dean of Black Journalists and was the first African American to work for a mainstream newspaper in the country. Published after his death, this collection of short stories shares Poston’s experiences growing up as an African American in Hopkinsville in the early 1900s. The stories combine excellent writing and humor to examine difficult issues.
Purchase a copy at The Vault by Planters Bank shop in the Pennyroyal Area Museum, or check one out from the Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library.
