Hopkinsville Art Guild’s 50th Annual Pennyroyal Juried Art Exhibition

The Hopkinsville Art Guild’s 50th Annual Pennyroyal Juried Art Exhibition will be held at the Hopkinsville Community College Auditorium Gallery at 720 North Drive, Hopkinsville, KY, from October 2 through October 24, 2021.
Area artist are invited to enter. The entry deadline is October 2nd by 12:00pm. A registration form and more information can be found on the Guild website: www.hopkinsvilleartguild.org
The exhibit will feature works in the following categories: Drawing (pencil, charcoal, ink, and pastels); Water media (painting using acrylic, watercolor); Oil media (painting with oils) Mixed Media/3-D (collage, montage, jewelry, woodturning, textiles, baskets, pottery, and sculpture); Photography (may be digitally edited). There will be cash awards in each category for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place selected by the Juror, retired art professor Kell Black.
- “People’s Choice Award”. We hope visitors to the exhibit will select their favorite piece of art and cast a vote for it. This is sponsored by United Southern Bank
- “Daedalus Award” this year given to an artist who demonstrates technical and esthetic innovation.
- “Celebrating 50 Award” specific criteria for this category is found in the Call for Entries
- “Purchase award” sponsored by Jennie Stuart Health.
Cash awards totaling over $3,500 will be presented to winning artists during an awards reception on Sunday, October 24, from 2:00 – 3:00 at the HCC Auditorium Gallery. The public is invited.
The exhibit is open to the public for the month of October during the HCC Gallery’s normal hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 7:00 pm and Saturday, 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. Many of the original works of art will be for sale.
