It’s hard to imagine how time can pass so quickly—seems like just yesterday that we held
our Ground Breaking 
Ceremony . . . and dug the first shovels of dirt that would begin the construction of our new Visitors Center!
To get us to where we are now, many entities and individuals had to come to the table and play a part. The initial discussions for building a Visitors Center began about 10 years ago between the Hopkinsville-Christian County Convention and Visitor’s Bureau and the Trail of Tears Commission. The City of Hopkinsville and Christian County Government, as well as Community Development Services, were also brought in early in the discussions and planning. After project funding was approved, Robinson Construction Company was hired as contractor and began work on July 13, 2016. In the coming days, we will give
a special shout out to all companies that have helped us achieve our dream!
We are so close to being open and we invite Christian County residents and visitors alike to our new home once we are open! The Visit Hopkinsville Team will announce our opening date soon!
