Hopkinsville is officially the greatest place on earth to view the Eclipse!

It’s official! The Kentucky legislature has released an official resolution recognizing Hopkinsville Christian County as the point of Greatest Eclipse and the best place on Earth to view the 2017 North American Solar Eclipse.  The August 21st event will be the first total solar eclipse visible in the contiguous US in 37 years. Additionally, it is the first totality path to cross both the Pacific and Atlantic coasts since 1918.

The Resolution was presented on March 29, 2016 by Senator Whitney Westerfield. To view the full text of the resolution, click here to view a PDF.

Signs have been put up around town to celebrate the upcoming event.
