The residency event will be presented in each Christian County High School. Event time is subject to change.

Staging Shakespeare – This signature workshop introduces elements of Shakespeare and drama while practicing teamwork and problem solving. Students work through the rehearsal process using Shakespeare’s text to create their own uniquely staged, student-driven performance piece. Students will follow the history of acting while learning the fundamentals of the craft through group improvisational exercises led by an artist educator. They will explore acting tools and techniques from rehearsal to performance.

Missoula Children’s Theatre Auditions for The Emperor’s New Clothes – smARTs at the Alhambra

Auditions are open to local children currently enrolled in grades K – 12. There are a limited number of roles per age group – auditioning DOES NOT guarantee your child a role in the production. If your child isn’t interested in the acting side, the theatre also needs 4 kids to step in as “Assistant Directors” to help with behind the scenes elements on stage.

Students who are chosen to participate are expected to stay for practice after the auditions, and be available for practice in the afternoons daily for the entire week of January 13 – January 18, 2020.

Local students who participated in Missoula Summer Camp at the Alhambra Theatre will be showing off their hard work as they perform The Snow Queen. Tickets are available at www.pennyroyalarts.org .

Although set in a “land of colored ice,” this classic tale will warm your heart in its illustrative retelling by a group of fun-loving, imaginative hobgoblins. As they depict the journey of a young girl and her quest to find her best friend, you may just find yourself believing in malevolent mirrors, yetis, talking reindeer, and snow chickens! Blizzards can come at any moment, so strap on some snowshoes and get ready to discover what it takes to overcome chilling obstacles, keep resilience alive, and melt down the Snow Queen’s icy walls.

Thanks to sponsor Flynn Enterprises for making the camp and performance possible.
