Gander Memorial Ceremony

Please join us for our 37th Anniversary Gander Memorial Ceremony.
Gander Memorial Ceremony is held each year in remembrance of the 248 soldiers and 8 crew members who died in a plane crash when returning from a peacekeeping mission in 1985. The soldiers were on board Arrow Airlines flight 1285 that crashed near Gander, Newfoundland. The plane was taking the soldiers back from their peacekeeping mission in the Sinai Peninsula and stopped to refuel in Gander. Shortly after take-off, the plane went down on a hillside, in Gander, Newfoundland killing all the soldiers and crew members on the flight.
Every year on Dec. 12, we take a moment to remember those who lost their lives in service of our nation.
