3rd Annual Water Festival

The Water Festival is an annual event designed for families to emphasize the importance of drinking water in communities.
Activities include:
Pioneer Water Race – Plugging the Water Leak – Community Water Race – Pump House Relay – Rate of Flow – Envirotwister – Off I Go Obstacle Course – Water Jeopardy – NRCS Rain Simulator – Tours of Hopkinsville Water Treatment Plant – Ground Water Model – Water Pollution – Rain Barrel Construction – Rain Gardens – Sinkholes – and much more.
Jeffers Bend partners with many groups to make this event possible including Hopkinsville Water Environment Authority, USDA Natural Resources, Kentucky Division of Water, Hopkinsville Storm Utilities, Christian County Conservation District, University of Kentucky, Kentucky State University, Army Corps of Engineers, Community Development Services, Pennyrile Area Development District, Hopkinsville Fire Department, Kentucky Association of RC&D Councils, Kentucky Rural Water Association, WHOP, WKDZ, Kentucky New Era, local cities, schools and churches.

Pastels with Jeannie White – Workshops at Hopkinsville Art Guild

Try your hand at an ‘artful endeavor’ with Hopkinsville Art Guild’s classes for you!

In this workshop, learn to create beautiful Pastels with Jeannie White. The workshop will be held at Jeffers Bend Environmental Center.

Hopkinsville Art Guild and Gallery members can take 2 classes at no charge (as part of membership benefits). After taking two classes, it is $25 a class for members. Non members can take classes for $35 a class.

Christmas at the Bend at Jeffers Bend

Join in the fun at this year’s Christmas at the Bend! The event will take place at Jeffers Bend Environmental Center in Hopkinsville on Saturday, December 7th from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm. You can enjoy refreshments such as homemade cookies, apples and apple slices, hot chocolate, and hot apple cider! Make Christmas cards for nursing home residents, create fun craft projects, learn about wintertime bird-feeding and fire safety, and have your photo* taken with Santa and Mrs. Claus!

Admission is $5 per car | $10 per bus (up to 15 passengers) | $15 per bus (16+ passengers) | Free for Military Families & First Responders
*(Additional $5 fee for photo with Santa)
Tickets may be purchased from: Jeffers Bend Environmental Center on Metcalfe Lane, a member of the Jeffers Bend Steering Committee, the gate on the day of the event.

At 12:45 pm, there will be a drawing for a new bicycle (valued at $150). Also during the event, H & R Agri-Power and the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels, will make a special presentation to event organizers.

Nature Fest at Jeffers Bend

Join the community for Nature Fest – a family event for health and wellness – held annually at Jeffers Bend! With activities ranging from a walk in the woods with master gardeners, to canoe tours on the lake, to a nature carnival with prizes, to storytelling and more . . . there’s tons of fun to be had by all!

Jeffers Bend is located on Metcalfe Lane, just off the intersection with North Main Street. Admission includes events, activities, and parking.
Admission – $10 per car | Active Duty Military with ID – Free | First Responders with ID – Free | $15 per bus (up to 25 people) | $30 per bus (26+ people)
