The Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County will host its next History on Tap next Thursday, August 27 at 6:30pm at the Hopkinsville Brewing Company. Members of the Hopkinsville Rotary Club will be presenting on the club’s 100th anniversary.
Join the club to learn about its history, traditions, and upcoming 70th annual auction. The auction – which started with a goat – has grown to become the largest single Rotary Club fundraising project in all of Rotary International. The club will also be introducing a Rotary-themed beer that night which can be purchased in a special 100th Anniversary Hopkinsville Rotary pint glass.
Woo hoo History on Tap is back!! This month, they will gather on the patio at Hopkinsville Brewing Company with Museum Director Alissa Keller to learn more about the Union Benevolent Society, the cemetery on Vine Street, and the Christian County men who served in the U.S. Colored Troops during the Civil War.
Learn more about Hopkinsville’s earliest settlers while making our community a brighter place. Folks will receive a brief training on how to document and clean historic tombstones safely before grabbing a bucket and brush. This program is free to attend, and the museum will provide all supplies.
