Pennyrile Lake Trail and Saltpeter Cave and Falls

We will start this adventure at Pennyrile Lake Trail, which is a beautiful 2.6 mile trail rated as “moderate” by AllTrails. This means to expect some rugged areas. Bring a hiking stick.
Afterwards, we will drive to our other trail, which is about 13 miles away, back toward Illinois, to visit Saltpeter Cave and Falls, a 1 mile out and back trail rated as “moderate” by AllTrails. These trails are worth the drive to Kentucky and definitely meet our high standards of magnificence.
