Youth Art Month Reception & Rewards – at Hopkinsville Community College

Youth Art Month Reception & Rewards – March 5th @ 5:00 pm!

March is Youth Art Month in Hopkinsville! The Pennyroyal Arts Council asks teachers from all public, private, and homeschools in the area to submit a collection of their students’ work for a month-long exhibit. This art will be on display in the Hopkinsville Community College Auditorium Gallery for your viewing pleasure during regular business hours.

Black History Month Speaker: Susie Archer – at Hopkinsville Community College

The HCC Pride Alliance organization will host Black History Month Speaker Susie Archer, February 27th, at the Emerging Technologies Building, Anderson Community Room on the campus of Hopkinsville Community College. Susie Coleman Archer is currently Director of Strategy and Implementation at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN, and also serves as Interim Director of International Student and Scholar Services Office.

Free food will be available at this special event.

Midday Music – Noelle Thompson – at Hopkinsville Community College

The Hopkinsville Community College (HCC) February Midday Music concert will be held Wednesday, February 26 at 12:05 – 1:00 p.m. The event will feature Miss Austin Peay State University 2020 Noelle Thompson who is a master yodeler and country music artist.

Midday Music concerts are free to all. A light lunch will be provided.

Black History Month Speaker: Eric Coleman – at Hopkinsville Community College

The HCC Pride Alliance organization will host Black History Month Speaker Eric Coleman, February 18th, on the campus of Hopkinsville Community College.

Discipline, determination and a deep faith in God propelled Eric Coleman from a small western Kentucky town to a successful career as an engineer, business executive and entrepreneur. In “Not by Accident: The Blessed Journey of Eric D. Coleman,“ Eric, 49, shares his story of growing up in a family of modest means, and recognizing early on that education would be his pathway to a better life. By earning multiple college degrees, setting clear goals and capitalizing on every opportunity, he has built a life of financial security and independence.

Black History Month Luncheon – at Hopkinsville Community College

The Minority Student Union will host a Black History Luncheon in the Emerging Technologies Building, Anderson Community Room on the campus of Hopkinsville Community College. During the luncheon, an individual is to be honored for their many years of service to Hopkinsville Community College.

This luncheon is open to everyone.

Martin Luther King, Jr Day Lunch Celebration – at Hopkinsville Community College

Hopkinsville Community College will host a lunch event to celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr. The lunch will begin at noon on Tuesday, January 21st in HCC’s Auditorium Building, Thomas L. Riley Lecture Hall.

Associate Minister at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Cadiz, William E. Ferrell, will be the event’s guest speaker. Ferrell is a second year Human Services major at Hopkinsville Community College. Life’s motto: “People don’t care how much you know, until they know how much you care.” The topic for the King Birthday celebration is “Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. the Christian Pastor – A Glimpse, of his Life and Spiritual Calling that Fueled His Social Ministry.”

2019 KICCS

Kids In College Can Soar (KICCS) is going strong in Hopkinsville! Each KICCS session meets daily from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm at Hopkinsville Community College. Tuition is $79 per student per week and includes class supplies, daily snacks, and a KICCS t-shirt.
