Hoptown History Hero Virtual Summer Camp

Join the Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County as they offer a virtual camp this summer!

The “camp” will begin on Tuesday, June 9 and will run for eight consecutive weeks to conclude with a final party and ceremony on Saturday, August 1. Each week focuses on an era or interesting stories from our community’s history. At the end of each week, our heroes-in-training will earn a special badge – and at the end of the program, participants will become an official Hoptown History Hero.

The program is geared for kids between ages 7 and 12. Modifications for younger children and even for adults are available upon request.

Registration for the program is required and opens on Friday, May 22. Party with the Past – at Main Street Tavern

Join the Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County for their first ever Party with the Past! This new event will be held at Main Street Tavern on Thursday, November 21 at 6:30 pm! They will be celebrating the 150th anniversary of the Kentucky New Era with a trivia contest that is sure to test your knowledge!

The Kentucky New Era printed its first issue in November 1869 and continues to serve as our primary news source today. For 150 years, the newspaper has supplied this community with international, national, state, and local news. Hear from former and current New Era staff while playing a fun game of trivia about local events and big stories that our hometown newspaper has printed.

Trivia Night – at Davo’s

Test your knowledge of local history in this special “Hoptown Connection” edition of trivia night.
